I am a certified conference interpreter and translator, sworn in at Berlin District Court. I do simultaneous and consecutive interpreting from and into English, Polish and German, and translate literary and non-literary texts. I am a member of AIIC – the International Association of Conference Interpreters, the German Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ) and the association of literary translators Weltlesebühne e.V.
I grew up in Warsaw, later studied English and American Studies, Modern German Literature and Media Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin and University College London, and completed a PhD on post-9/11 city novels.
In 2013 I was a visiting professor at the University of Richmond in Richmond, VA and in 2014 a visiting scholar at NYU in New York City.
I curate and host international cultural events, among others for the International Literature Festival in Berlin and the House of Poetry, and give seminars on pop culture at Freie Universität in Berlin.
